CELPIP Study Materials: Every Free & Official Source

Search for CELPIP study materials and the results split in two: official pages, and a swamp of 'free PDF download' links promising past papers. Here's the short version. CELPIP publishes a free test-taker guidebook, two free CELPIP-General practice tests (plus two for the LS version), and over ten hours of webinars. Celpify's Test 1 practice questions are free on top of that. And past papers? They don't exist. CELPIP has never released a real exam.

The official free resources page carries a Guidebook for Test Takers (a PDF covering format, scoring, and pricing, updated July 2026), a one-page test overview, and free preparation tips for all four components. The bigger prize sits one click away: two complete CELPIP-General practice tests, free, in the same online system as the real exam. Taking the LS test for citizenship instead? There's a separate free starter set for that version too.

Add the webinars, more than ten hours of recorded sessions walking through each component, and you have a real foundation before spending anything.

Celpify adds a second free layer. Test 1 is open in full: listening, reading, writing, and speaking practice questions with no payment. CELPIP's own paid catalogue covers an online course (CELPIP Accelerate), question banks with answer analysis (CELPIP Practice and Analysis), study guide ebooks, and a classroom Preparation Program run through test centres. Prices change, so check the official study materials page for current figures before buying anything.

Do you need the paid tier at all? From what we see on Celpify, the honest answer: only once the free layer stops teaching you something. People regularly burn a week hunting for downloads when four complete free tests already exist. Work through those first, find your weakest component, then spend money on that one thing. CELPIP has never published past papers. Every test form stays confidential, and new questions are trialled inside live exams rather than released afterwards. So the 'CELPIP practice test bundle PDF' files floating around forums and file-sharing sites aren't leaked exams. Most are rewritten guesses, and the most widely shared one is a copy of an official guidebook from years ago.

The problem is practical more than legal: outdated files teach an outdated test. A PDF from 2019 won't match the current CELPIP test format, and practising the wrong format is worse than not practising. Stick to sources that name themselves: celpip.ca, or platforms that show you the material before asking for anything.
