Expressing Opinions

A strong answer states a position in the first sentence, gives two or three reasons with an example each, deals briefly with the other side, and closes by restating the position. It is scored on Content and Coherence, Vocabulary, Listenability, and Task Fulfillment.

How to score higher on Task 7

Plan three beats in the 30 seconds: position, reason one with an example, reason two with an example.
Use opinion language early: 'I believe', 'in my view', 'I strongly think'. It tells the listener where you stand.
Add one sentence that acknowledges the other side, then return to your position. It shows coherence without changing your stance.
Use the full 90 seconds. Repeat the position in different words at the end if you have time left.
